I heart kimono

I know I talk way to much about kimono and not enought about lolita, I promise my next article will be the next Lolita 52 challenge's answer ! But God I love kimono so bad, they are just as impractical as lolita fashion (the way to show pretty clothes are impratical) and at least as beautiful in this strange way. So as I received money from my familly for my birthday, I was looking forward to buy a new dress and nothing was either in my budget range or my taste, I finally decided to invest in some kitsuke (the art of wearing kimono) accessories. I just ordered some and I'm currently looking for one or two "juban" (under-kimono), cheap enought for daily wear.
I must say that I'm a total noob at wearing these sort of things so I try to do my best but I'm sure I just break dozens of rule whenever I put it on. Anyway, knowing about that I'm looking more for a Meiji style look (mixing kimono and traditionnal japanese clothing with western clothing such as shoes, hats, jewerly, accessories) which would in my opinion fit me better than a total traditionnal look.


Oui, je sais, je parle beaucoup trop de kimono et pas assez de lolita, mais je jure que mon prochain article sera sur ce fameux Lolita 52 challenge. J'aime tellement les kimono, ils sont aussi peu pratiques et bizarres que les vêtements lolitas ! Comme j'ai reçu un peu d'argent de ma famille pour mon anniversaire, je voulais m'acheter une nouvelle robe mais rien ne me plaisait out tout était hors budget, donc j'ai décidé d'investir dans des accessoires de kitsuke (l'art de porter un kimono). Je viens de commander des accessoires de base et recherche actuellement quelques "juban" (kimono sous-vêtements) à petit prix pour pouvoir les porter souvent.
Je dois bien l'avouer, je suis une totale débutante dans le kitsuke, et même en faisant de mon mieux je dois briser une bonne dizaine de règle à chaque fois que j'enfile une manche de kimono ! Donc je pars stylistiquement parlant sur un style inspiré de l'aire Meiji (ouverture du Japon au monde et donc mix de vêtements traditionnelles japonais et occidentaux), qui de toute façon me semble plus approprié pour un étrangère ne vivant pas au Japon qu'un look totalement traditionnel.


Aaaaaand I just realised I didn't even take a picture while wearing my kimono, probably because I'm still no satisfied with my obi belt knot (not tied in the right style), so I only have stock picture to show you, sorry. I actually bought two kimono (one's definitly a yukata, I'm not sure about the other one), and a Nagoya style obi belt. I bought it red, but I'll certainly end up buying a black one because it goes with more colors and patterns.

Eeeeet je viens juste de capter que je n'ai même pas pris de photos en portant un kimono, certainement parce que je ne suis pas du tout satisfaite de mon noeud de obi (pas attaché dans le bon style), donc je n'ai que des photos de stock à vous montrer, désolée. J'ai en fait acheté deux kimono (un qui est un yukata, pour l'autre je ne saurait dire) et une ceinture obi de style Nagoya. Je l'ai achetée en rouge, mais je vais certainement en acquérir une noire parce que ça va avec tout.

I didn't find the colour I wanted for obi-jime, so I'm planning on making one later with some shimering black fabric. All of these were around 30€ with shipping (10€50), it's a little bit pricier than in Japan but still ok I think. I wanted to buy a full set on Rakuten but shipping was even pricier, so I didn't bothered.

Je n'ai pas trouvé la couleur que je voulais pour mon obi-jime, donc je vais certainement m'en faire un dans un tissu noir un peu brillant. J'ai eu tout ça pour environ 30€ frais de port compris (10€50 sa maman), doncun peu plus cher qu'au Japon mais ça reste raisonnable. Au début je comptais m'acheter un set d'accessoires entier sur Rakuten mais vu les frais de port ce n'était même pas la peine
